Show Summary

Adam opens today’s podcast talking about Gene Wilder movies, and his early days performing comedy. He also recalls listening to The Doors in light of today’s upcoming guest, and the guys go on to talk about teachers not wanting to teach, and Dawson’s new Audiobook about Yoko Ono and the ‘Great Beatle Death Clues’. Gina then reads news stories about Coronavirus, the Friends reunion that may or may not happen, and the new Cannonball Run. Before the break, Adam warns everyone about the ‘safety umbrella’, and Gina reads one last story about couples not knowing what their other half actually does for a living.

Robby Krieger and Adam chat 1-on-1, beginning with Robby’s early days as a teenager forming The Doors in Southern California. Adam also asks Robby for his take on the Oliver Stone film, and Robby talks about trying to get another film made about the early years of the band. They then discuss Robby’s reaction to hearing Jim Morrison had died, Jim’s obsession with his mother, and Robby’s relationship with performing and being on stage. Other topics of conversation include some of Adam’s favorite Doors tracks, Robby’s songwriting abilities, and Robby’s lifelong love affair with the guitar. Later, Robby talks about how the band changed after Jim died, and the band’s resurgence of popularity over the last couple decades. As the show wraps, Robby plays a couple Doors riffs for Adam on his guitar.
