23 Jul Joel McHale
Show Summary
Adam welcomes Joel McHale to the podcast right at the top of the show. The guys talk about Joel’s new standup special, and talk about collegiate studies and having to ‘round down’ in today’s highly offended society. They talk further about trying to sell out a comedy show overseas, and also discuss the importance of staying sharp when you do a lot of comedy. Adam then shares a story about his weekend performing in Portland, and he pitches a movie called ‘The Spotter’. Later, Adam talks about driving his Newman Porsche around the streets of Glendale, and Adam asks Joel for his thoughts on performing locally more often, his travel regiment, and the pains of sleep deprivation. Before the break, Adam has a heartfelt conversation with his dad.
Gina begins the news discussing a national alert issued in Costa Rica for deaths related to methanol poisoning in alcohol. They also talk about the recent heat wave sweeping the country, and mental health days allowed for students in Oregon, which reminds Adam of Dr. Drew’s backstage panic attack from many years ago. As the show wraps up, the guys react to news of a small dog picked up by a seagull, a food challenge issued by Burger King, and a warning issued to parents about ‘lunch debt’. Stick around for today’s Good Sports!
