Show Summary

Adam opens the show with his old friend, Ivan Reitman. The guys discuss his incredibly prolific directing and producing career, and Adam looks back on the various projects he and Jimmy pitched and developed with Ivan back in the day. They also talk about Ivan’s latest film, Draft Day, and the successful directing career of his son, Jason Reitman. Adam then asks Ivan how he broke into the industry, and the guys discuss their favorite moments from the classic films like ‘Animal House’ and ‘Ghostbusters’. Later they discuss an awkward exchange at a charity event, and an important moment at Ivan’s house the day after 9/11.

After the break, the gang talks about the sad passing of Harold Ramis, and also Ivan’s experiences working with comedy legends like Bill Murray, John Candy, John Belushi, Rick Moranis, and more. They also have an extended conversation about developing your own projects, and the problems with the film industry as it currently stands. In the last part of the show, Alison reads news stories about NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, and John Travolta’s response to rumors about his homosexuality.
