Adam opens the show with a mandate to get it on and an off air laugh he will tell us about in a moment. Gina is out of the day, Adam and BB talk about David’s insane number of Tonight Show appearances.

Matt is in studio and they tease the game coming up, Adam is bringing up the ongoing email chain with FilmBuff and the Amazon DVD stocking issues.

Adam shares how everyone comes to him and he must do multiple rounds with people to get stuff done.

 

Adam is killing it and has a funny one liner about what he says to the parking attendant before entering the lot compared to leaving, holy shit!

Gary is now reading an email with a name left off to protect the parties involved, Adam is sharing his take on these incoherent replies.

BB shares his take on this being forwarded to someone, Gary is on the mic and Dawson jokes about BB being in for the nomination of shitting on a point, as per usual.

 

Matt is on mic and giving his take, they’re trying to figure out this potential interview with John Doe regarding an interview for the KROQ documentary.

Adam says maybe its people playing it too fast and loose with the email.

Matt gives his take on work emails and how his staff ignore the full emails, he says you must share less text in a reply if you want it all to be consumed.

 

Adam asks Matt what percentage of his life is redundant nothingness, Adam says at a certain point even if it will hurt him he gives up and stops trying to do it.

Adam is telling them about the new ‘Point Break’ movie and a screening with Q&A afterwards, he explains how the studio wanted him to preview the movie and then screen it with the cast and crew.

Adam is asking Matt about the multiple laps over the movie and how he insisted there was no need to get him on board, he knows how to do this and focus on the positive of the film regardless of quality.

 

Matt says you don’t want to see that movie twice, no way!

 

Adam shares his emotional lightweight status and how he wouldn’t fuck over the studio even if he hated the movie, he talks about Catherine Bigelow doing the original movie and how it probably has a boosted score based on her involvement.

Adam talks about the Coen Bros. credits and how one doesn’t write while one directs, as he was told on air by BB when the credit decisions regarding his movie came up.

 

1st Movie ‘Wall Street’ (1987)

Adam says he used to love Oliver Stone movies like he loves Quinten Tarantino movies, they all comment on the dated look of the movie.

 

2nd Movie ‘Trading Places’ (1983)

BB gives his take on the movie and mixes up the title, he says Trading Spaces.

 

3rd Movie ‘The Hudsucker Proxy’ (1994)

Adam says his buddy Chris Darga was in this movie, BB has a weird breath into the mic before giving his mini review.

They both weigh in.

 

4th Movie ‘Boiler Room’ (1999)

Adam never saw the movie, BB praises it and thinks he’s trying to sway him.

 

5th Movie ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ (2013)

Adam and BB both praise the movie, mostly the Quaalude fight scene and the Lamborghini drive.

Adam says the 77% is them raising the Scorsese bar too high and grading him against his past work.

Adam is joking about BB going by his oncologist for his new year’s resolution as they wrap up the game.

 

Adam is giving his take on enjoying luxury and moves onto a live read.

Adam shares what he misses from his childhood regarding delayed payments for purchases from department stores or using credit lines and the TV commercials with the boasts about no payments for over a year.

Adam talks about the low gas prices they saw on the road, they pay you to take the gas etc.

Ben, inspires to riff about clear booze decanters and how they now use them to hide low end booze, BB reiterates what Adam says about the irony of the invention made/associated with high end booze now being use to trick people in the back of shitty limos.

Adam is talking about the least desirable boozes and Adam talks about the scotch that tastes like you’re licking a rock near a waterfall, Adam is getting to the super mossy flavor and how some high end stuff can end up tasting awful despite the refined processing or rare methods of creation.

Adam thanks Ben on behalf of Gina, Adam is talking to Gary about the beautiful black lab puppy that assistant Rob purchased and Gary is now quoting Adam about what he hates about puppies.

 

Adam has Chris get on mic to explain what he and Gary were doing with Rob and his puppy in the back instead of working.

Adam said it took less than 48hjrs for his proclamation to come true about the taxing time demands of a puppy for a single dude.

Adam recalls his old Puppy Lotzi and the toll it took on his life to care for her until her unfortunate demise.

Adam is back to his handling of the delicate situation with Rob and his puppy Dilemma, Adam is explaining he’ll make it right, either make the dog a “shop dog” or find it a home.

 

Matt suggests Adam give it to his kids for the holidays.

They’re back from break and David Steinberg, he’s making his ACS debut and it turns out he never appeared on the KLSX show nor any known Classic Loveline appearances, and this is Adam’s first time speaking with him on air it seems.

Adam and David are going super in depth on his journey and his life as a standup, Adam talks about program directors and transitions to the few rules he has in house, hilarious sex through a sheet riff, nice improv work from BB helping out.

Adam is back to his life at home and how his son will be enjoying himself on his tablet while the big screen TV is playing football and he’s wearing his beats by Dre, Adam shares his conflicted feelings about intervening.

 

Adam is asking David about his parent’s opinions on him pursuing comedy and entertainment over religious studies.

Adam is asking David about the different era of the Tonight Show, with Carson.

Adam asks David where he was when he got the call for ‘The Tonight Show’ and he talks about how he did the show many times towards the end of Jay’s run and how nobody ever talked about it or mentioned his appearance.

Adam is talking about handball against the drapes in response to David bringing up comedy audiences and doing a show for 6 people in 1967 or 1968.

 

David name drops Carly Simon and explains how one of the 6 audience members wrote a nice review and worked for a paper.

Adam says it goes to show you never know who’s listening, Adam asks if it was ‘Mad Men’ behind the scenes at ‘The Tonight Show’ in that era.

Adam asks him about his first few appearances and how quickly he made it to panel on the show.

 

Adam is explaining who Charles Bronson is to Gary and the audience while asking for some pictures, David is sharing an anecdote about him.

Adam is now asking who made more per syllable Charles Bronson or Vin Diesel.

Adam says he stops skipping the rope based on some “mind bet” type rules regarding the commercials that play during his shows, he talks about showing off while skipping rope.

Adam is explaining how he stays in weird positions for made up time allotments based on commercials, maybe he should write a general health and weightless book next, “Don’t lose your Weight, Lose My Weight.”

 

David and Adam are talking about Bryan Cranston and David tells them about his show, Adam recalls Carol Leifer was involved and Adam talks about the lack of drama among roofers that is found behind the scenes of network TV.

Davis is telling them about getting fired as a director and his shot preferences, Adam is riffing about insert shots and dumb directing choices.

Adam shares his love for ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ and he loves it when jokes come around and a plot feels whole.

 

Adam asks about the next season of Curb and David tells them Larry David got a whole in one on the golf course yesterday, he got a phone call about it.

Adam is now asking him to tease a ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ “writing session.”

Adam asks how it goes once you walk into the room and David is walking them through the constant presence of takeout food and how late nights and fatigue can sometimes inspire the best stuff.

David tells Adam about the pubic hair in Larry’s throat plot detail that he initially fought against and wound up winning him great acclaim, very humble.

David tells Adam he’s a huge fan going back to his KROQ days and that he followed his career, Adam is genuinely flattered and thanks him.
