Adam opens the show to a “I guess Jack Silver was right about not booking Louis C.K.” intro, Adam welcomes the gang to the show and teases the phoner with Kinky Friedman. No #TopDrop?

Dawson compliments the animation style of Kinky as features in ‘Tales from the Bus’ and Adam gets right to his cheap Blu Ray player that AV ED installed in his house.

Adam goes over the conversation with Ed about the lack of LEDs and an indicated disc slot, the power strip it was plugged into also didn’t illuminate while active.

Adam says they shouldn’t be allowed to sell products without indicating LEDs, Adam is now transitioning to the delay between remotes and devices and how deceptive that can be.

BB jokes about the double-edged sword of being Adam’s AV guy, Adam and BB are talking about the difference in cost.

Adam says he got the alarm guys installing smoke detectors at the other shop, he says he cannot stand people who work in homes and don’t clean up after themselves.

Adam says he always thinks about these guys when he thinks of SimpliSafe, Adam explains how the system was already in place at his warehouse and he is stuck with them.

Adam references the domestic dispute going on when the system was being installed, he gets to the zip ties that are used and how they never pick up the clipped off end pieces of said ties.

Adam has a great “no/yeah/no” and he asks about the “unicorn that rides Halley’s comet” (needle in a haystack) element of trying to find professionals who clean up after themselves.

Gina brings up her job insecurity, citing ACS #2202 the live episode where Mike August filled in as the news gal.

Adam and BB jokes about talking after the episode, saying it was their best live episode.

Adam says Mike doesn’t have nerve endings, he was hungry and BB is reacting to the pictures of KD Lang and Mike August and BB tells them about meeting Mike’s dad the football coach.

Q and Ace

1st Caller Michael, he’s calling about it being Bill Simmons (Jimmy Kimmel) birthday. Michael goes on to cite an article where Bill claimed that Adam Carolla was the funniest man he’d ever met.

Michael asks why Adam and Bill aren’t more frequent guests on each other’s shows, Adam says Bill treats The Valley like he’s Johnny Drama and won’t commute.

Adam explains how it’s not reciprocal between guys in The Valley vs. The Westside, Adam thanks him and they move on as Adam mocks his “yeah well” throat noises.

Adam welcomes Kinky Friedman to the show, he explains how all of the stories have some connection to Kinky.

Adam talks about Kinky being a humorist and they touch on the modern PC culture that finds many comedians preaching about politics and social justice instead of jokes and comedy.

Adam recalls seeing John Hiatt as they discuss some old venues, Adam says he lives in Hollywood and gets lectured about white privilege so he enjoys seeing these old stories, showing the truth about poor white people.

Kinky tells them about avoiding technology and Willie Nelson who he considers his life coach of sorts, he tells them about a recent conversation with Willie and gets in a decent step on a rake joke while talking about the man’s love of golf.

Kinky has many lines chambered, everyone seems to be enjoying it and Adam plugs his book before they wrap up.

Kinky says “may the lord take a liking to ya” and Adam is talking about the bands featured in this ‘Tales from the Bus’ series and how they were almost like the original rappers.

2nd Caller Danny, he read the same article from Bill Simmons and that is also how he got into the show, he listens during his morning dump.

Danny wants to know about sensitivity, he says he rolls his eyes and can’t get invested in showing emotional support to his wife.

Adam says there is a balancing act you have to engage in, he explains the psychological element of an early flight, Danny says he wasn’t bitching but BB rightly observes his declaration of not being a bitch is a very bitchy.

Adam says you cannot be dismissive of your partners life experience, he says the person that would be the most receptive to your advice about powering through as they would just be powering through, so you never have a perfect person/target for those tips.

Gina brings up how Jewish people are often very performative when describing their day’s events, Adam makes a point about his deal with Howard Stern where he would finish Loveline, drive home and then return to record on less than 1 hour of sleep.

Adam says he did that constantly, it was totally insane.
