Adam opens the show with the standard intro, Drew shares how he’s scheduled for 8hrs of talking today.

Drew did 3hrs of radio, this show and Loveline.

Adam says he didn’t know you could make money talking when he was a kid, Adam says that Dr. Drew is an expert, Adam wants to know if psychologically he views it as being a doctor in media or talking for a living.

 

Drew says he feels like a court appointed expert and Adam shares his jealousy for that, he wishes he could be a home improvement expert.

Adam is taking it back to his days at ACME, he was pulled aside and told he’s not SNL material but simply needed his own show where he just talked.

Drew is asking Adam if he’s a “humorist” and Adam says standup can be his thing, Drew eschews that and claims Adam doesn’t hone a set, he does, and he can.

Adam says that he fantasized about having a place with a microphone where he could talk, Adam says you could fuck a unicorn if you’re fantasizing.

 

Adam just wanted to make a living talking and Drew is asking him how old he was at the time.

Adam is explaining he was really good at football and talks about holding court with the fellas.

Adam says he was lying and there was no hard fantasy, he was just holding court and fucking with audio when he got the chance to record himself, he tells Drew he wasn’t jacking off to this fantasy and to stop pressing him for details.

 

Adam explains how you couldn’t talk at many of his first gigs, a sort of quiet existence.

Adam is using Chris as an example of someone doing something they want to be doing and thriving and he gets on mic to explain how he got hired at the network, leaving off as little bit off a key detail.

Adam is now arguing against luck and the ultimate cosmic effect of luck, Adam says that while he brought up the idea of comedy he wasn’t encouraged.

 

Adam is now exploring the relationship with Mark Sweeney and says that his (Adam’s) stripper girlfriend found the ad for ACME and tells Drew about a former performer there who is oft featured on ’60 Minutes’ and Adam describes using this guy Bob to figure out details and when things happened.

Adam says that Mark allowed him to pay 30 bucks a month to be a cast member, after 3 years he asked him if he sees him as a performer or a writer that sucks as Adam couldn’t spell.

Adam explains that his advice wasn’t practical, it was in a perfect world advice for scenarios that don’t exist.

Drew brings up Oscar the barber and his Volvo/Saab trade in, Adam says the only time he gets upset as an American is when he can toggle back and forth with and without an accent but the other party is seemingly unable.

Drew says you shouldn’t second guess young people’s ambition and Adam asks him about the early KROQ days.

Adam asks Gary if he had any mention to get hired at Carolla Digital.

 

Drew brings up the roles mentors play for many people, Adam says it’s the job for older people to recognize inherent skills and talents and young people and if they do anything help them with that or encourage them towards that.

Adam says that if someone told him about partnering up with another comedy writer and let him or her do the typing, Adam provides the jokes.

 

1st Caller George, he tells Drew about his 3yr old daughter with eczema he brings up “leaky gut” and Drew tells Adam that goes towards gluten intolerance, Drew is telling him not to spin out and look for the unusual stuff.

Drew says it could be cats, Adam says it could be paint and Adam obsesses over the caller’s connection issues.

 

2nd Caller Gary, his sister has a child she gave up for adoption who has now become friends with the child she decided to keep.

Drew is talking about open adoptions and explains the way they deal with these questions and scenarios, Adam is now offering up his alternative “shit happens” Kardashian advice, Adam says it’s always somewhere between ‘Ozzie and Harriet and Robert Kardashian burying a machete.

Adam tells Drew his sister is back together with her high school boyfriend, Adam is riffing about Chris identifying as a women to make a point about what’s good for individuals and the change in judgment/societal shame for alternative lifestyles or even divorce.

Adam predicts that a boss will dock a male employees pay for identifying as a woman to get them down to the 72%

3rd Caller Grant, he’s still doing the “Hello” thing and needs to get a rude awakening, Adam is giving him some basic acting advice and tells him the rule of giving three takes for the edit bay.

Drew asks what he says when they get on the line with him, he’s of the same ilk as these liars who go onto Lovelinetapes and claim that all of the dumb callers were actually them and it was a bogus call they masterminded, even though that’s not true.

Drew recommends his most recent podcast with Jen Kirkman, he brings up how Adam is accused of the women aren’t funny thing despite what he actually said.

Adam clarifies his words, unaware of the extreme reaction Jen had on social media after she bought into the misquoted interview and was ready to believe Adam is a misogynist.
