George Shapiro and Jeff Cesario

Show Summary

At the top of the podcast, Adam talks about an afternoon spent with Jimmy Kimmel and friends after recording an interview for the new KROQ doc. Jeff Cesario is also in studio, and the guys trade stories about people invading other people’s space. Adam then recalls one of the most terrifying flights he’s ever taken, and the guys read through a hilariously long list of Debra Messing’s food allergies. Later, the guys complain about green room sofas, and take fan phone calls about air conditioning rules, getting stuck behind a slow driver, and gruesome Click It or Ticket commercials. Before the break, ‘Chet Waterhouse’ checks in with a sports update.

George Shapiro is in studio next, and Adam talks with him about his legendary roster of clients. The guys also talk about George’s new documentary about vitality and old age, and how we’ve entered something like a ‘senior renaissance’. George then talks about his career trajectory and representing legendary comedians, as well as his thoughts on pain in comedy and people he never wants to work with again. Later, the guys ask George about having Danny DeVito play him in a movie. As the show wraps up, the gang talks more about older people enjoying their lives more than younger people, and Gina reads news stories about a hate crime stabbing, a women-only screening of ‘Wonder Woman’, Tiger Woods’ return to the media spotlight, and magic mushrooms being the safest drug.

“If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast” will premiere on HBO on June 5th.
