Darrell Hammond

Part 1: Turduckens, ‘The Century Club’, and Dave Chappelle thoughts, plus Listener Calls (ACS Jan 5)

Part 2: Darrell Hammond In Studio on Saturday Night Live and Getting Arrested in the Bahamas (ACS Jan 5)

Show Summary

Adam opens today’s show talking with Bryan and Gina about growing up a dim wit, and yet also very witty. He also complains about his kids still not going back to school despite it being the new year, and floats his theory about women getting crazier as more pressure mounts. From there, the guys talk about Turduckens, ‘The Century Club’, and Adam’s dad’s appearance in a film featuring a young Paula Abdul.  Before the break, the guys take listener calls about Dave Chappelle, Stephanie Matto, and charities for Bald Bryan to consider.

Adam is excited to welcome Darrell Hammond in studio at the top of Part 2. The guys chat about his experience auditioning for SNL, how he honed his ability to mimic voices, and struggles with substance abuse over the years. Darrell also recalls getting arrested in The Bahamas, his final moments with his father, and his strained relationship with his mother. In the last part of the show, the guys talk more about the pressure of imitating real people, thoughts on the current cast of Saturday Night Live, and running an impression workshop alongside Jay Mohr.
