Adam opens the show with the standard intro, he immediately transitions to the topic of “The No Roll” where dumb people get on a roll of saying no.
Adam says they decide what happened and no amount of evidence will change their minds, like Mike Nifong and the Duke Lacrosse case, you should give up when you see the ATM footage clearing one of the players, not double down.
Drew says security guards at every concert are stuck in the “no roll” mode, Adam says it also takes place with business and he recalls publishing his first book and his efforts to get a 2nd audiobook produced.
Adam goes over his argument to get them to use his studio which led to an almost endless back and forth of Adam trying to convince them to let him make them money and split the profits.
Drew is asking Adam if he talked to the publisher, Adam says he even spoke the literary agent and was offered 5k for all of the effort it would take to create it.
Adam says he had already fulfilled the audiobook requirement so it was this deal or nothing, Adam learned he was in business with vindictive/stupid people.
Adam shares how he offered to rent the studio to them for 2k, the publisher then wanted to split the costs and refused to accept that Adam had already paid to build the studio and pays the staff.
Adam was mainly frightened by their behavior, he didn’t want to be in business with people that backwards, he cites how he was told they were upset by him calling them fucking retarded on air.
Adam is back to their posturing and the notion of them taking offense at Adam’s offer, Drew says resentment is a problematic feeling and presumes Adam offended them at some point.
Adam is mocking the notion of taking a stand over 1k because you have been “shamed” and Adam is now asking that people look for the genesis of these events, he says it’s scary they are employed in the industries and positions they are.
True Car – Drew is going to swap rides in the next year or so Edition
Adam is now sharing how people tried to talk him off the ledge regarding the audiobook deal, instead of the idiots he was dealing with who dug their heels in.
1st Caller Cameron, he has lost over 120lbs since going sober.
He’s a huge fan and mentions he listens to old Loveline.
Cameron brings up how Adam feels about Bob Dylan and asks how Adam feels about Neil Young, Adam clarifies his opinion on both gents.
Adam recommends ‘Cinnamon Girl’ as a great example of good straight-ahead rock and roll.
Onnit – Drew with the completely non-smooth transitions, Drew doesn’t listen anymore Edition
Adam and Gary talk about the band ‘Crazy Horse’ and Adam says some very kind things to Cameron before they move on.
2nd Caller Brett, he called in last year about the sore on his dick. He says he called Dr. Drew’s podcast but implies he called this show too.
He tells the boys about his dick rash that resembles the syphilis he had last year.
Drew says syphilis is typically painless so Brett’s symptoms and the pain he felt makes him think it was herpes.
Brett reveals he’s a valet and called in a few years ago and Adam went off on him.
Adam is now giving him some etiquette tips as a valet, what he can do to make things better for drivers and encourage more tips.
Brett says tip up front to get special treatment, he says the ticket being left under the windshield wiper is a California valet move and Drew gives him some advice, telling him to see a doctor to get the sores checked out.
Adam wraps up the show and gives out the plugs.
