Show Page

Adam opens the show with a funny “more screaming than BB’s new baby” intro and a “Daddy’s Drunk” #TopDrop and Adam welcomes him back to the show, he welcomes Gina and Vinnie to the show and gets right to a BBQ question.

Adam explains someone asked him what Vinnie would say about BBQ options and he shares what he told the person, Vinnie basically agrees but twists it enough to make it seem like not just anyone could repeat this stuff.

Adam is talking about his morning of facing his fears and how he had to head to a studio to read some teleprompter, a Viacom corporate gig.

Adam shares his drive from La Canada to the Fox Lot and he jokes about the WAZE app advising him to get out of his car and climb to the location on foot, holy shit this is hilarious!

Adam is sharing how it took him about an hour and a half, Adam says he saw the bomb squad and the LAPD mobile command center, he jokes about how they needn’t use mobile on a trailer, surely there is a stationary command center elsewhere, no need to clarify.

Gary is on mic and says he was researching this and they called 311, Adam has never seen this display of LAPD military strength and something must be going on.

Gary explains there is a make a wish kids event going on and Adam doesn’t not like that, Gina asks if that was the case would he be ok with it and Adam pitches and alternative day of eating a possibly first and likely last peanut butter and jelly sandwich option that saves some tax dollars.

Adam says when he got to the studio he was immediately back at school writing “Gurl” on the chalkboard, he says his handwriting can only be described as “evil clown” and BB cracks he’s known as “Ransom note Carolla” and Adam says he is triggered by the pressure of needing to read out loud.

Vinnie shares his own reading and comprehension difficulties. Adam says he has a weird left handed “Jewish brain” and he starts in the back of a magazine beginning with the ads, Vinnie says he’s the same way and Adam jokes about rolling them up to beat his kids.

Adam says he earned to read aloud at age 30, he says the Birchum bits and cramming really helped and he says the worst night of his life was when they flew out to film ‘Ordinary Extraordinary’ and he was terrified of being the “newscaster” for the program. He jokes about being hooked up with Jimmy Kimmel the best reader, writer and expert of the English language possible yet he was cast in this role and such the opposite.

Adam recalls the producer got in his head and scared him about being on point with the dialogue, he says he recalls doing well in spite of that and thinks of another story.

Adam tells them about advising the BMX guy he should unscrew his buddy pegs when attempting a jump world record, he didn’t think it was necessary and then got injured by said pegs. Adam says the bike should have been prepped for the specific event.

No news from Gary about the cavalry in North Hollywood, Adam says he presumed everyone would be squawking about this and Adam thinks it had to be a drill based on what was going on in NYC.

Tommy John

BB has a true story about his Tommy John’s that he brought along with him in Christie’s bag and used to dim Christmas lights in the birthing suite, good for wearing and dimming.

Gina mixes up the underwear being repurposed in a post from a fan, Adam wants a black Tommy John undershirt and Vinnie claims to have one, he says Mike August gave it to him and Gary gets on mic to clarify he has the T-shirt not the undershirt and it’s unclear if they make a black undershirt and he gave the shirt to Vinnie, Adam tells them to cool and jokes about fist fight and wraps up this insane one time only read edition.

Q and Ace

1st Caller Adam, he’s calling asking how to convince more parents to let kids play youth football and he wants to know what he can do to sell this to moms.

Adam says the biggest problem is everyone is pussy whipped now and the guy puts his foot down into a big pile of “yes dear” and shares that his son is more concerned with his own wellbeing than his wife his about his son.

Adam is now talking about having to rally this weekend and how he needed to be beaten down and built back up as a youth to be able to pull this off today.

BB talks about coaching kids and yelling for them to give “4th quarter effort” when training and Vinnie says he wouldn’t be anywhere near Carolla Digital today without football in his life, he was born on a bayou after all…

Adam tells the story of the time a coach told him to lose weight to start on the B team and how he instead bulked up and got on the varsity team and started too.

Adam is telling Adam to play this for the kids and he’s riffing as a coach telling BB to get him a beer, BB is playing a concerned mom and Adam jokes about his fist and one ass cheek doing the talking for him.

Adam is playing caller Adam it seems and BB is now a sheepish kid he’s coaching, funny evolving improve scene.

What Would Vinnie Do?

1st WWVD Deep Dish Pizza, German Platter with sausage, sauerkraut, potato salad and beer or Soul Food on the south side, fried chicken, collard greens and mac and cheese?

Everyone is now making their guesses, BB says the Sausage and Adam is combining the two options, he is confused and the rest of the cast heard 3 options.

Dawson says Lynch wrote it as two options and Adam says they heard it like human beings but Adam heard the reality of what was said.

Adam revises his guess now that they do it as two, Dawson re-reads the list and Gary says it sounds like 3 to him and the comma denotes that, he’s right.

Adam is going over the options and he says the beer is tossing him off here, he stills goes with the soul food and Vinnie says the beer is there anyway and Adam tells him he can’t add it to every meal, that’s bullshit hypothetical answering.

Adam is now asking him about the pizza options and he says you can scrape off the toppings and eat just that like one of Adam’s pickiest of employees form the other warehouse.

Dawson asks Adam about his next book and if he has a title yet, Adam asks him if this part of the game and when this came up, it’s all a bit off rhythmically.

Dawson defends himself and says forget it, he will never ask Adam a question again and Adam tells him to not get all passive aggressive and he explains why he was confused as he was reading something that Lynch sent.

Adam doesn’t’ want them re-writing their relationship based on this one misunderstanding, he wants him to be able to ask questions, hilarious back and forth with and obviously embarrassed and retreating Dawson.

“I’ll just go home and kill myself”

2nd WWVD Hand Weights while thinking and composing a book, standing desk or a walk every hour

Everyone make their guesses and Vinnie says the curls are useless and he cites Dr. Drew’s rippling biceps and he says standing desks are the best option, he says bearing the weight of your structure is the best thing you can do and BB says he stands for every show and shifts his weight.

Gary has some details about a possible man with a gun at a pool that might have warranted the police response Adam saw.

Adam is now throwing this game in Vinnie’s face

More Depressing; Bad Canoga Park hotel with a courtyard with broken down kids toys or option B, a pool that has been filled with dirt and has a lame attempted at something planted in the middle that has died and exposed piping, both of these exist at my childhood apartment complex FYI, in Kirkland Washington of all places.

Vinnie double turns the game on its head and does Adam one better by telling him about seeing Angelyne the infamous Los Angeles character in her signature corvette with some new damage that left her car partially destroyed and only held together with packaging tape.

Adam declares clear packaging tape the duct tape of the modern era and Vinnie wants to somehow help her out so she can get the car repaired or replaced.

Adam says don’t go up to Angelyne and let her know that you know a guy who does great work and Adam asks if she will be in the Oscars “In Memoriam” segment and BB disagrees whole heartedly.

Adam says she could make it and argues that her billboards are destroyed in many films, Adam talks about regional fast food and the arguments he would have with Jimmy Kimmel about non universal references and how people can still appreciate the joke or premise outside of the relevant market.

Gina shares how Adam and Jimmy introduced her to ‘Del Taco’ before she ever got to try it as it wasn’t available in her hometown, same here!

Adam is talking about this bizarre conversation looping to ratings levels for Amazon’s original series and they go back to the callers.

2nd Caller Andrew, he says he has been listening to ‘Take a Knee’ in the class for helping kids in his class, Adam plugs the Ryan Blair TAK and jokes about the kids being charged and asked to chip in some change to listen to these premium only podcasts.

3rd Caller David, he shares how he watched ‘The Hammer’ with his girlfriend and they loved the scene where he was jumping rope, BB advises people check it out on YouTube and Adam mocks him for not telling people to go buy a copy.

David wants Adam’s take on the new iPhone sans 3.5mm headphone jack, he comments that they proclaimed it was “bold” to remove it and Gary takes umbrage with that.

Adam tells him to look it up and see if it’s true, Gary is on mic and he confesses he found a press release that mentions courage, he goes back and forth with Adam and he says he can handle the cordless earbuds, the question is Lynette and Natalia and if they can handle the wireless buds.

They had to break

They’re back from break with Clifton Collins Jr. making his ACS debut, he’s a huge fan and Adam immediately gets to the new Westworld project on HBO.

Adam comments on the new era of TV and how HBO has raised the bar with production values and Clifton agrees while adding to the sentiment.

Clifton has a funny “no cut in this” and Adam picks up on the funny drug innuendo which Clifton appreciates, he talks about working Anthony “Tony” Hopkins and Adam is bringing up his nuanced portrayals in film and his face acting.

Adam is telling them about the movie ‘Fracture’ with Ryan Gosling and Hopkins, Gary has the plot breakdown and BB doesn’t recall the movie even being released.

Adam asks what Clifton plays on the show and Gina wants to know if he’s “an employee” of Westworld which is a spoiler even if you say no spoilers, Clifton dodges it with a ‘We’ll see’ and Adam is asking him about his work with Homeboy Industries.

Clifton insists Adam go over and try some of the delicious organic Mexican food and Adam jokes about sending Matt to pick some up “You Fly, I’ll Buy!”, Clifton brought him a copy of his book ‘Prison Ramen’ and Adam asks him if he’s done time and they get into his history a bit.

BB and Gina jump in and they all plug the book and they tease the news before a live read.

Draft Kings

Gary has a fairy wings update, Sonny wore the wings without argument, he was a champ and paid his debt to society, a man of his word edition

BB is a big fan and he praises Clifton’s role in ‘Scott Pilgrim’ and ‘Rule of Attraction’ and they head to the news.

Gina’s News

1st Story is on the latest ‘Between Two Ferns’ with Hillary Clinton and they listen to some select bits while reacting to it, Adam says it’s funny and marvels at how amazing this world is that we live in and Adam jokes about Bill Clinton reacting to being asked to be booked on the show if it had existed in the 1990’s.

2nd Story is an update on what went down that might have motivated the Brangelina divorce, Gina tells them the detail about Brad trying to escape on a fuel truck and Gina further comments on the details of the case.

Adam says aw fuck let one bad thing happen to that guy, he has spent a life being ahead of the game, BB brings up Clifton’s role in ‘Babel’ but he didn’t get to know Brad while making it.

SimpliSafe

3rd Story is on Leah Remini’s new show themed around ‘Scientology’ and Adam jumps in with a riff of Bill Cosby and L. Ron Hubbard in hell talking about who had the longest run of success before things went south.

Gina has the rest of the details and Adam asks when Tom Cruise will jump ship from Scientology and Gina brings up his medals and achievements in the religion.

4th Story is on Dwight Yoakam’s new album where he covers ‘Purple Rain’ and Adam brings up his 1997 release ‘Under The Covers’ which he discovered when Dwight guested on Classic LoveLine.

Adam wants the Dwight Yoakam cover of ‘Here Comes The Night’ the Van Morrison and Them original is played by BB and Adam explains the premise of the song and has a funny “baking biscuits in Burbank” line while mocking Dwight in comparison to what Clifton does with Homeboy Industries.

Life Lock

Adam has to always trek out to his car to get his ID to prove who he is when signing contracts and forms, even in his own home edition

They’re listening to the Dwight Yoakam version of ‘Here comes The night’ and Adam has some funny commentary before giving out the plugs and proclaiming that Mike August’s role is to eat and give him different colored sharpies after live shows.

Adam’s “putting down some kielbasa” line is the closing drop used by BB.
