Adam opens the show with a funny “Beat off to TJ Hooker” intro from Dawson and Lynch, Adam explains that Philly Cheesesteak is in studio and BB has a #TopDrop of Gina Grad saying “Cunt Bumper” and BB explains it’s good that Adam hasn’t made his kids or pets part of the show as Adam does acknowledge how annoying that can be.

Adam explains that Lynette had a bunch of stuff and they didn’t want to leave Phil out in the rain today, BB has a funny quick song rendition.

Adam is now telling the gang how he puts Phil in bed with Natalia each night after letting him out to pee one final time before he heads to bed.

 

Adam explains that Natalia was in the other room making a strange noise, he explains that she comes from a long line of loudmouths and he now impersonates his late Grandmother Helen and her screams upon arriving home from work.

Adam says it’s akin to the person who gives a “yoo-hoo” and a quick knock only to open the bathroom door into you mid poop.

Adam is explaining why you knock, like why you name streets differently and don’t just use Blue jay a bunch of times in the same area.

 

Adam is explaining how Lotzi would be in the kitchen and he would run to the front door like Tom Cruise with the weird karate chop hands to greet her, Adam says she would act as if he was supposed to materialize in front of her.

Adam is mocking Helen’s “Yoo-hoo” and cites Lynette’s late mom and her shouting about Jesus and her faith, hilarious “Where’s Sonny?” “He’s behind you, he’s been there for 3 days” exchange reenacted by Adam where he played both him and Lynette.

Adam explains how Phil heard Natali’s possible scream distress and how he got up and went to check on things, Gina says she’s very “Sooie” and he shares a cute anecdote of a hardware store run with Natalia who bonded with Adam over their “motors” and BB shares a cute Phil anecdote.

 

Adam tells Gary that the monitor is not on, BB says yeah the screens in case they thought studio monitors like cans?

Adam is now sharing a story of Lynette’s brother sending a troubling message about some possible bad news and now they presumed it was about Lynette’s aging father.

Adam says it turns out it was to announce the death of Lynette’s late mother’s former martial arts instructor who Lynette never met.

 

Adam is talking about the grip of old age and Adam is trying to think of a name, he’s saying Joel over and over again.

Gina says Joel Grey and Adam says that is it, he’s talking about him playing a sensei in ‘Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins’ to which Adam confuses, very funny alternate title.

Adam says it was the tail end of old Jewish guys getting to play Asian characters in feature films.

 

Adam shares the awkward moment of Lynette looking at him about the dread of her father’s death she was pre-mourning before calling her brother.

Adam shares how Lynette’s phone cut out after the obligatory small talk while Adam paced back and forth outside the door, chambering his own needs to be emotionally available for his wife.

Adam talks about the people who have the nefarious gene and like having someone dangle out there.

 

BB says that sounds like the lie someone uses in a sitcom to cover up for something else, the dead martial arts instructor.

Winner: Joe, he works from home and Adam asks him about it and tells him about what Jodi his wife’s best pal told him about her experience with, in her bathrobe until noon and going to Starbucks in her pajamas, she needs an office to go to.

Adam thinks he is pretty disciplined and it wouldn’t be that regimented with lunch and cracking beers midday.

 

Adam is asking him what he bought, he got a copy of Vinnie’s book and Joe is touching on Vinnie’s great story and the 500 mile races, Adam talks about breaking and mastering one’s self and the bizarre era we’re in, contrasting it against Leonardo DiCaprio’s character in ‘The Revenant’ and how we now must envy ourselves what we enjoy most to not become overweight.

Adam talks about trying to break and master oneself and how it’s not about getting exercise as much as it’s about breaking and mastery of one’s own discipline.

Adam talks about being able to avoid pecan pie while on a diet, BB shares his theory and Adam takes it back to Joe so he can get a sip of water, CAN THE PILOT TAKE A PISS!?

 

Adam is talking about sliding and diets, how proclamations and strict rules only lead to your own self destruction.

Gina talks about her own yoyo dieting and weight loss, Adam is bringing up how people always put off what they can’t bear today, he says you need to wean yourself off of cigarettes, not pick a meaningless date to stop.

Adam is talking about people who don’t pay the IRS debt they owe and end up accruing interest.

 

Adam is commenting on how you can slip, like sobriety and not need to snowball down the hill.

Adam is saying have one piece of pie and then stop, don’t flog yourself into eating the whole tin.

 

Q and Ace

1st Caller Tom, he noticed a booger in the nose after talking to a coworker for 10min, Adam says the rules have changed and people seem to point things out immediately, Adam likes being alerted and appreciates be told about some gross shirt going on his face.

Adam says the key is to not let it fester and to organically just address it immediately, Adam is saying the era of the broccoli in your tooth joke is over.

 

2nd Caller Brandon wants to know how to instill work ethic in his kids without making them hate him or develop an eating disorder.

Adam is telling the gang about his son asking him to tag along to the live show and he told him about meeting mayors while on the road with him, Adam says when you’re a kid it’s all about mayors before you learn they’re powerless and worthless.

Adam says taking his kids with him as much as he possibly can seems to help them see what work is, he doesn’t need to give a tutorial, his kids learn through osmosis and Gina talks about tagging along to radio stations as a kid.

 

3rd Caller Scott, he wants to know how Adam deals with watching his kids having fun on his dime while he’s out earning, Adam is talking about being out in a bathroom in Compton while his wife and kids were zip lining in Catalina.

Adam says part of a reason he became a dad was to give his kids such a great life, he doesn’t have to hold their fanny packs and be there to witness it.

Adam picks up on Scott’s depression and BB cracks Gina up with a nice shotgun drop, Adam is trying to quote “set your phaser to stun” and jokes about not setting your phaser to fun, satisfaction instead.

 

Adam talks about the 50/50 crowd reaction in Irvine, funny “is he always like this!?” from BB as a random attendee brought with a friend to see the show.

He’s giving them an example of a sink full of dishes, Adam tells him to not let it build up nor let it fester.

Adam tells William he looks very dapper, Adam does not and he tells him he’s always amazed at how spry and with it William is in his twilight years.

Adam is talking about the book that’s about his friendship with Leonard Nimoy and William is trying to describe the type of friendship he’s getting at.

William talks about the motorcycle drive he did across country and the two sets of brothers riding with them and their relative bonds, cute story.

 

William is telling them about the role of oxytocin and friendship that’s not conducive among men, Adam talks about lone wolves and the lack of female example, unless she’s lost her cubs and is looking for them.

Adam is asking him about his relationship with Leonard, William tells them about the marriages, divorces and now even death they went through together.

Adam talks about Leonard’s privacy and William references the two books he wrote about himself.

 

Adam talks about William’s versatility in acting and the limited roles given to Leonard and how he suffered from the short attention spans of the public who weren’t’ willing to allow him to be much more.

Adam is asking William about the career trajectories of him and Leonard, William is giving them a thumbnail sketch of Leonard’s background and Jewish upbringing.

Adam says he had no idea he was Jewish or even practiced the faith.

Leonard warned William about living with an alcoholic and he talks about raising horses and giving and receiving love and how he thought he could change a person with is love and make her not an alcoholic with love and care, codependency.

 

Adam is asking William about his late wife, they were together for 9 years and he talks about her death in candid detail.

William explains how Leonard was helping him through this time dealing with his wife and her rehab, William describes the creeping snake of addiction.

Adam is now talking about William’s ex-wife and trying to save her life and the resentment being pushed back at him while he’s trying to help her.

 

Adam talks about the resentment of helping family and the ones you love most.

William talks about lending money to friends and Adam says he needs him to explain to people who want to borrow money what it could mean for their friendship.

Adam is talking to William about his wife and Al-Anon Family Groups and going in depth, he says if this helps people’s he’s ok talking about it even though they were on the topic of Leonard.

 

Adam is talking about the genetic predisposition to addiction and William says that might be true, perhaps Leonard didn’t have the genetic disposition for addiction.

William is talking about oxytocin and the lack of it in a human brain which then needs to be compensated for/assuaged with a substance.

 

Adam is asking him about the relief involved in watching a loved one pass from a disease like addiction.

He describes his wife’s devolution like a horror film and explains how he told her he was going to divorce her if she couldn’t get clean.

Adam is now asking him about what inspired him to write the book about Leonard, he jokes about not speaking to Kimmel, only through their managers.

 

William is talking about going to battle with a fellow by your side, citing their time working on ‘Star Trek’ and how death can remove validation from the things you did together.

William says the specifics are beginning to fade and the book is a desire to permanently memorialize the things he still remembers vividly.

Adam is asking about William having to introduce himself at a meeting, or did everyone know who he was.

 

Adam is talking about the role of empathy in Leonard’s life and Adam wants to know if he would feel the cathartic need to write this book if he was still close to Leonard when he passed.

William is making some great points about legacy and what we leave behind after our short stints on this planet together.

William is talking about a Red Cross gig he was set to do the same day as Leonard’s funeral and why he chose to do good deeds in his name instead of going to the funeral.

 

William shares his dilemma about death, do you mourn the death or celebrate the life of the person who is gone.

Adam asks William how he would like us to celebrate his life, he says to be brought back to life, Adam jokes about reanimating him with a straw instead of mouth to mouth.

Adam ask if there is part of him that feels it was selfish for Leonard to push him out of his life towards the end of his life.

 

William is telling them about the last 4 phone calls they had over a year before he passed and how he would never get an answer about the distance between them.

BB has a question about Leonard’s directing work and William has a funny Star Trek 5 joke in response, nice self-deprecation.

Adam says Leonard seemed like a legitimate artist to him and Adam says he respects it when someone steps away from directing or acting.

 

Gina brings up Leonard’s late in life hobby of photographing nude women, he talks about the artwork and his process.

1st Story is on Kanye West’s backstage rant about the SNL staging and Taylor Swift, Gina plays the clips from backstage.

Adam is now talking about his appearance on SNL that was comically horrifically bad, he says he likes many young black performers and sings the praises of Gary Clark Jr. and he gets to the “he’s a producer” defense people use for his shitty rapping as of late.

 

Gina has another clip of Kanye screaming about how influential he is, Adam chuckles and Gina name drops some more people he mentions.

Adam says maybe he has syphilis and its eating his brain, Adam says he thinks of Kim Kardashian as simple and wants to know what they talk about when together.

Adam is talking about the Ray J lyrics in the rap that Gina brought up and he explains how weird it is to bring up for most husbands.

 

Adam says he can testify that going on the radio show or podcast and making a crack about his wife can lead to a frosty evening, BB has never experienced that…

Adam is now asking what Kanye expects from his wife, no repercussions?

Gina talks about his insane tweets from the night before his SNL performance, Adam is asking why he’s giving shit to Taylor Swift and he explains he recalls him rushing the stage and fucking up her acceptance speech.
