Gin Blossoms’ Jesse Valenzuela

Gin Blossoms’ Jesse Valenzuela

[powerpress]

Show Summary

Adam opens the show talking about his conversation with Riki Rachtman, who’s being interviewed for the KROQ doc. Adam then rants about living in LA, and shares more depressing pictures from his youth. After that, he takes fan phone calls for a round of ‘Tales From The Cheap’. One of the callers knows Dawson, and the guys go on a jag about radio DJs.

Jesse Valenzuela is in studio next, and he chats with Adam about the 25th anniversary of the Gin Blossoms breakout album. They talk about the role that KROQ played in the band’s success, as well as the band’s roots in Phoenix. They also commiserate about working with producers that don’t like your work, and discuss the renaissance of vinyl, and going on tour with other likeminded bands. As the show wraps up, Gina reads news stories about training NFL players to celebrate properly, and Woody Harrelson’s decision to quit smoking weed.
