Some music is too complex or intelligent for the dumb masses (Opeth,for example) and gets drowned out in a sea of mindless pop drivel , and then some music just plain sucks (Hiatt, for example) and gets drowned out by superior artists who can write a decent song.
Hiatt in his time couldn’t compete with much better bands like Springsteen and the Rolling Stones, but if his music had come out today and he couldn’t compete with steaming shit like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, I would totally understand Adam’s stance on the guy.

I rescheduled my anniversary trip to Tampa so I could catch your show. It was awesome! Thanks for signing my DVD. I had so much clever shit I wanted to say, but I got up there and totally clammed up. Starstruck I guess, I’m such a dumbass. You thanked us for coming out and I was just like “uh-huh”. At any rate, the show was great, my wife even enjoyed it and she’s a harsh judge of comedy.
