Show Summary
Adam opens the show with Doug Benson on stage, and starts complaining about how disappointing certain Olympic sports are. He also talks with Doug about the drive down to Irvine, and how crazy it was that Adam’s car would brake on its own. The guys then take a couple audience questions, and play a round of Totally Topical Tivo Trivia Time.
Alison begins the news by discussing the disqualification of several badminton teams for not playing their Olympic best. The guys also discuss whether or not Olympic swimmers pee in the pool, and Adam tells a story about the kids peeing at home. Also in the news, Sandusky is upset about the sanctions against Penn State, and the Brady Bunch is coming back as a rebooted TV series. As the show wraps up, the guys talk about some experiences that all men should have, and a new Facebook app that will swap out all those baby pics you don’t want to see.

Very bad episode guys. I listen to Benson’s podcast, so I don’t know if it was the crowd or what but for the first time in 3 years of listening to Adam’s podcast I had to stop turn it off. I didn’t make it past the 14th minute. Oh well, we all have bad days and I guess every 3 years Adam has one.

Kinda funny that the chick asked Adam what the ONE place her new friend should go while he was in Los Angeles. The guy rode his motorcycle all the way from Vegas, and Adam’s genius suggestion is Lawry’s – a restaurant that has 4 locations in the entire United States, and two of them are Los Angeles and freaking Las Vegas.
That’s like someone from Cairo going to Las Vegas, and you tell him the number one thing he should go see is the Luxor.
Can I just say Adam is the most photographed neglected child I have ever seen. For someone who parents didn’t give a shit there sure is a lot of documentation of your early years.
Interesting PB&J, I was thinking the same thing. I know that in the Taco Bell book they edited out the awesome looking pedal car in the background of one picture I’ve seen on this website before. Who’s pedal car was that? Adam’s? Is Adam giving us a revisionary past? Hmmmmmmm!
And with really nice teeth.
I think the pictures may have been taken by people other than his family members. But I also don’t know why he’s being compared to Bobby Brady-it should clearly be Greg or Peter. As far as being really super duper neglected, it’s not really that, he just holds resentment for it. Quite a few other people (not naming names) feel this way, too. Parents don’t have to be overly abusive to treat you as a non-entity.

Well this was a fun episode. Even though Benson didn’t really add all that much to it.
The only thing I hate about these live shows is the horrendous audio levels, which are all over the place. Spend a little money and put some limiters/compressors on the mics so everyone is at the same level.
Best cast in a long time. Stone IPA best beer in a long time. OG best smoke in a long time.

Great episode, I just don’t understand the point of Tivo Trivia. It could be a nice launching pad for some movie rants (which are always good) but that never happens.

I love Ace, BB, and Alison, and almost every show is great. I usually only post on this board, however, when the guest is a dipshit (e.g., Shek, Benson, that woman from Real Housewives). Like Ace says, complaining is funnier than being satisfied. Don’t you agree?
Ace Man, please just stick to cracking wise with Bill Simmons, Shek etc. on the Basic Cable Commentaries, the Huel Howser thing was obnoxious, I had to turn it off. Other than that, keep doing the lord’s work brother!

I love the live shows; been to three of them in person and they always bring the funny. As for the audio I liken it to the great live albums of yore: The Who “Live at Leeds”, “Frampton Comes Alive”, Rolling Stones “Get Yer Ya Yas out”, and Johnny Cash “Live at Folsom Prison”. There may be audio issues, but the energy is so moving the flaws are offset. Being of approximate age to Adam we grew up with a lot of “live” albums, and we have grown an appreciation for the form. Perhaps in this day and age of “Autotune” the 20 to 30 somethings are unable to enjoy a live engineered performance?
