Show Summary

Next up, actress Dana Workman is in studio. Adam talks with her about her new paranormal SyFy series, Haunted Highway. Alison then starts up the news with the sad passing of director Tony Scott and actress Phyllis Diller. Other news stories include Todd Akin’s controversial rape comments, a celebrity cast for the new season of Survivor, and Jay Leno having to cut a bunch of staffers. As the show wraps up, Adam talks a bit more about Monterey and listens to the latest Dick Banks classic.

The music is never the ground shaking pieces of art they claim it to be. The worst songs the Black Keys have made are better than any of the outdated nonsense they play.
I used to be like you. You will be amazed at what you find yourself enjoying at different stages in your life. I listen and enjoy stuff now that I would have thought was lame as shit when I was a younger. If you listen to enough music this will happen and you will feel kind of stupid for making that comment.

The haunting behind the movie The Entity, starring Barbara Hershey (the real woman’s name was Doris Bither) was in Culver City in 1974. That is a pretty well known story of a haunting in L.A. I don’t know how far that is from where Adam grew up, but that is one story I am aware of. Not sure of any well known UFO sitings though. So it’s not just people in the south.
I would have liked to have heard more about this woman’s tv show. I have been a fan of this podcast since the beginning (and the radio show when it was on, as well as Lovelines) and know this isn’t the place for an in depth interview, but sometimes I wish I could learn a little more about the guest’s book/tv show/movie rather than having to look it up on Wikipedia after I hear the show. It would probably help to drive more traffic to Amazon from the site if guest’s had a chance to “sell” their stuff on the podcast by talking more about it. Just a thought.

I’m sick of reading negative comments about Adam and David’s musical preferences. Maybe if you took a few music courses or learned an instrument, you would realize what real music is. Adam and David are spot on. Please don’t let these trolls change the music recommendations.

Amen. The great thing about your music preference is that it DOESN’T define you. Two people can have similar opinions on 99% of the issues out there, yet listen to totally different music.
I’d say that I usually enjoy what David Wild has to contribute, but maybe he shouldn’t be on the show quite so much. Once a month sounds good to me.

If you’re relying on the Adam Carolla Podcast for your facts and figures, I’m feel very sorry for you.
Well its true that tennis players can have asymmetry of around 15% bigger playing arms. Brace yourself but Neanderthal had 35%+ larger right arms than their left.
Someone said this would be just ‘larger muscles’ but IF my memory has it right – this is actually larger bones, joints, ligaments. And ‘Popeye’ is just about right because I believe Neanderthals right forearm, specifically was larger.
The theory is they were trained and doing excessive weights and pressures even as they grew up. maybe spear thrusting (rock throwing?) This really does develop a bigger stronger bone.

Although my opinion is strong and unforgiving, it certainly is not ignorant.
I “put David Wild down’ because he sucks. I do not enjoy his segments, so much so I simply fast forward past them.
Music guru? His supposed credentials hold no sway with me. And actually music is one area where I disagree pretty strongly with Carolla—not the music geared for 14 year old girls, but what he does like, as well as his griping about 80s pop music. For example, Duran Duran is not the greatest music in the world, but it is great for what it is (fun 80s music) and certainly better than the crap around now
Anyway, music is something quite personal. Suffice it to say I don’t like anything this ass clown has proffeed on the show. And if comments on here are any indication, most people do not. This is true even though my taste in music is probably quite divergent from everyone elses.(I like post-punk alternative and hardcore industrial, aggrotech and ebm music that seems to frighten some people).
So you see now that David Wild must be removed from the show at once.
