Chris Isaak and David Wild
Podcast: Play in new window
Show Summary
Adam opens the show in a bad mood, complaining about not having his new book cover displayed online. Alison then opens the news talking about the $2 billion purchase of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The guys also talk about the announcement of Anchorman 2, and vegan issues with Starbucks smoothies.
Chris Isaak and David Wild both enter the studio next, and talk with Adam about ridiculous things that Mike Tyson has said. Chris also plays one of Adam’s favorite songs, and tells a fascinating story about its origins. Later the guys chat about the importance of having a good work ethic, ridiculous kids books, and who the best drummers are. David also discusses working on a new book with Cee Lo Green.
In the last part of the show, Alison returns to the news. The guys talk about an online sugar daddy site, and the fact that older lovers in Los Angeles are more generous than the rest of the country. They also talk about Kim Kardashian getting ‘flour bombed,’ and a couple other famous celebrity attacks. As the show wraps up, the guys talk about a woman who pretended to be crazy to get out of Jury Duty, and when Chris Isaak met Buck Owens.

Just saw Adam on Kimmel. He’s right about the whole HD thing. The makeup job they did on him makes him look like a old photograph from the 1880′s that’s been colorized.
Interesting. They look like they’re both disgusted with each other.
….can’t wait to listen to this one….
“looks may be deceiving” in this case yes…
Great Pod!
Not sure why I never have given Chris Isaak’s music a listen.
I liked that little bit of “Somebody’s Crying” he played, going to find out what album it’s on and check it out.
Have a listen to Wicked Game, his most popular and my favorite Chris Isaak song, I just ordered it on Itunes… Good Times!
Chris Isaak was very big in the 80′s.. you must have been born in the next decade. Go ahead and give it a spin, you’ll like it.
Guess what Ace!? They magically put your cover ahead of time even though they said they couldn’t. Weird. Stupid or liars ?
Both. They are stupid liars.
It’s on “Forever Blue”. Love Chris Isaak. Love when musicians like him come on a show and are able/willing to instantly jump into a song like that.
make sure you go through the aceman’s amazon link…keep that pirate ship afloat!
Chris Isaak rocks! Go see him live. You might expect a crooner sitting on a stool singing “Wicked Game.” Nope. You’ll get a full on rock concert, complete with Isaak’s hysterical brand of humor. He’s amazing. Have been a fan for years. He’s severely underrated. Check him out!
kidding? his music has been around forever and is awesome. must listen.

Ha! That’s hilarious! Thank you for posting these, they’re very good. Do you do it free hand with a stylus thingy?
I do! I got one as a gift recently and made it my mission to use it everyday. So far its all been for good!

Is that a black eye?
no, i wish i was that badass. i’m really just a sensitive artist
See? Next time you think about booking “Mayhem” Miller, remember that you’ve actually had real talent on this show. That is all.
from the “For Crying Out Loud” commercial.. “Parent” is a noun, which is incorrectly being used as a vague replacement for “child-rearing,” or “raise” or “nurture” or “bring up” children. A noun should not be used as a verb, “parenting” sounds as ridiculous as “nephewing” or “chairing” or computering” or “vehicling” .etc…
Is that show as horrific as it sounds? I mean I imagine they try to play bits that entice people to listen, but it’s mind boggling bad.
Except it is a verb. There’s no English dictionary in the world that doesn’t include “parenting”. While the examples you used cannot be verbs (“nephewing”, “chairing”), there are tons of examples that can be: “painting”, “mailing”, “biking”, “housing”, “banking”, “gaming”, etc.
Heh heh heh heh…you said “child-rearing”…heh heh heh…
Please do not parent!
@mpg has prosopagnosia.
Total chemistry.
Can’t wait for Alison to shit on this episode!
The short time where it was just Adam, Chris, and David was a sweet reminder of what great podcasting is possible if she just pipes the fuck down.
Green Day is a great live band? Holy shit. I don’t think I know anyone, or have ever heard of anyone for that matter, who knows less about music then Adam.
Other then that, fab show.
Adam’s not the only one who thinks that. They played Lollapalooza in Chicago about 2 years ago and several people I know went to see other bands and had no great interest in Green Day but said they were a ton of fun to see live.
I don’t know anyone, or have heard of anyone who misuses THEN more THAN Duck Manson.
Other THAN that, fine comment
Love David Wild on the show. That guy has a ton of great stories.
Keep up the good work Ace man.
Any chance of getting Teresa on the show ?
yeah, I’m backlogged on podcasts on my player, I need one I can skip.
I know Adam rips on nut allergies but if I eat nuts I automatically get violent diarrhea. I’m glad I found out what I was allergic to so I could avoid shitting myself every other day.
Tagline on the cover of Adam’s book: “From a dump with a dirt lawn, a hero will rise …”
Still wondering why Mom just couldn’t find the time somehow to locate those snapshots of the boyhood home?
chris isaak is a badass. When he tore into somebody’s crying I lost it. Roy Orbison reincarnated. It was awesome when pop stars had talent.
When’s the Aceman gonna get another good feud going? He needs a new Ann Coulter or something. Kevin Smith was too much of a puss to be a worthy opponent…feuds make for good pod.
Enjoyed Adam on Kimmel as always. The commercial bit was hilarious!
I’m sure the new book will be great, but it looks awfully small. I mean, it’s suppose to carry all the life stories he has shared over the years crammed into roughly 200 pages? I’d expect a tome about twice the size of War and Peace just to cover the Pop Warner years
Anyway, I heard this story about Adam’s son playing T-Ball with a funny comment about Angry Birds…..just a few times………
Love me some beetles in my smoothie. What’s so wrong with that?
Really good show, would’ve loved to have gone deeper into the Kubrick stuff but what can you do.
Us Vegans eat the termites, we’re hungry and they aint on the don’t eat list! Dah!
Uhhh… 2 things.. how could Chris Issak come on the show when Adam’s dissed his music so many times? And, are Adam, Lynette, & Davd Wild having a three-way? He’s on the show waaaaaaay too much! An interesting guest… once in a while. Pssst… David… Lynette’s just using you to get to Bruce.
umm… that’s Springsteen… not doctor.
Adam, just to let you know for the future. Herpes is not funny. It’s not funny the way you attempted to use it today. It won’t be funny in the future episodes. Same thing applies w/ rape as well. You really like to throw rape around every once in a while and every time it’s a dud. Along with aids too.
None of those things are funny.
It’s not herpes that’s funny, it the ridiculous commercials for Valtrex that are comical.
Nah, herpes is funny.
…rape and AIDS are funny too.
“By the way, what’s your favorite guitar pick?”. Carolla’s comic quickness cannot be overstated…
Aceman,
Mac Danzig is vegan and he’s fucked up a few dudes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_Danzig
Just saying…
Those Starbucks ingredients listed “Cochineal Extract”.
That “Cochineal” is an insect that they squish up to make edible red and pink dye. (I looked it up on Wikipedia).
It’s probably for the pink strawberry color.
Keep David Wild coming back as a regular! He adds tremendously to the show.
Somebody’s cryin’ is a great Chris Isaak song and Derailed was a pretty good movie. Rarely do my tastes match Adam’s as much as today.
please have david wild on the show more, he is a great guest
Look at all you luck people. I wish I could be like you. OHOHH!
Appreciate Alison censoring herself however briefly because there were kids in the studio. Completely unironic “Stay classy, San di Alison”
Chris Isaak is awesome, and the Chris Isaak show was great.
Hmmm, three comments by 1:14 pdst… Had enough of your comments being “moderated” yet?
As Jesse Pinkman might say “Moderate this, bitch!” Auto Shepherd sucks and has not a single item for a Toyota truck outside of the VERY basics. Trust me, as a guy who clicks here first for ANYTHING, I’ve tried.
ACE broadcasting should distance themselves from anything that fails this miserably at it’s job.
Now keep your head in that position. You know why.
Not surprised, they do have spots for Subway which Adam destroys (for good reason) in his book. The fact that he gives such high praise to Subway sandwiches calls into question all of the other sponsors. For example remember that “awesome” cheap, “practically free” Pro Flowers deal. It was $20 for the flowers plus Standard Delivery: $9.99, Morning Delivery: $14.99 Guaranteed Valentine’s Day Delivery: $4.99 Care & Handling: $2.99. Now to be fair I didn’t have to have the flowers delivered on Valentine’s Day and saved 5 bucks, and I could have rolled the dice and not had them delivered in the morning (especially since they arrived at 1:30 PM) even so it was an extra $13 for shipping?
This was a great podcast Chris Isaak was also great.
I thought that this podcast was great! More David Wild and musicians
David has great stories and I find them very interesting and he
cannot hide his love for the Aceman which means he won’t step on him
while he’s talking
The first 15 minutes are solid advertising, including a lengthy spot for the upcoming book.
Much better job.
Still too much content between the ad spots tho.
Looking forward to the content-free, all ad version of the podcast.
thanks in advance.
Loved Chris Isaak! Didn’t think it would be that interesting, but he was a lot of fun.
Couldn’t buy beer today because all the retards were in line buying lotto tickets.
In the MLL (Indoor Lacrosse) 6 goals in a game is a “sock trick” and everyone throws socks.
Amazon uploads once per week? They don’t charge my CC once per week! What a bunch of BS.
Great show! Booking David Wild was like finding a gold mine full of GREAT guests.
Loved the show opening… 27 minutes and I loved every second. Usually around the 20 minute mark I worry and think, “Adam, shut up! Pepipe! Save the rest for the guest and the news!”
Great pod!
And am I the only one who swoons when Alison enthusiastically says “Yes!” in answer to Ace’s LegalZoom questions? My wife suspects that I am in love with Alison, but she will never know!
Two very interesting dudes, outstanding guests. This was a great episode.
There’s no reason Adam should be doing a podcast everyday. Twice a week would be great, that way he could get some good guests on. I think Chris Isak is a good one, but the last week has been pretty bad. And David Damashek, Fitzsimmons, and Dana Gould, while funny guys, are not like Jim Norton in that you can listen to them everyday.
my favorite quote :
“You’re beautiful, while David on the hand has to visit an ATM every time he touches his wife” LOL
THIS WAS ONE GREAT!!!!!!! SHOW!!!!!!!!!
CONGRATS ON NEW BOOK!!!!!!!!!
BLESS YOU, AND ALL YOURS, FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!!
LOVED YOU ON ELLEN….she loves you no matter what
you say….you looked a bit terrified. She was a Loveline
fan and a true appreciative comedian, above all else.
How did it feel to be starring on one of “your shows”? And
thanks for relieving me early of that big haired buffoon,
sorry LL, we can’t hang!
Loved you on JKL…..never a disappointment!!!! GREAT!
Caught Doug Stanhope routine on what an over-rated puke Dr.
Drew is….greeted me on the way to the 5:15 a.m. shift!
24 hour comedy radio makes life FUNNER!!!
Love the thought of you rolling over and farting at 4 a.m.
I wake to Hendrie four days a week… 2:45 a.m. Weeee!
Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World!!!!
THANK YOU, SERIOUSLY, FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!!!!
Ride on Josephine!!!!

If we swallow 8 spiders a year, how do vegans deal with that?
Great podcast! Chris Isaak was a great funny guest…next time book the drummer with him. : )
I was glad Adam brought up musicians and respect – I’ve always wondered about that. You can have a guy who sold millions of albums and arenas but they won’t even interview them but the dumb ass appearing with “The laugh factory” or “Funny Bones” in front of 40 people gets a full segment on a late night talk show. weird.
Searching Netflix’s Watch Instantly recently I came across a title called The Hammer, and was happy to be able to watch your movie again. A closer look revealed this Hammer to be a “based on a true story’ wrestling movie and not your comically enhanced, “based on a true story” boxing movie. I was disappointed. But it got me wondering, if you, Adam, have any control over the distribution of The Hammer, and if there are any plans to have it added to Netflix’s streaming, in the future. Always enjoy the podcast.
Chris was witty, charming and just a real treat …. great pod guys… great pod !!
wouldve like to have heard isaak play a couple songs with the lovely nasaly drone drowing it out. for once can we hear a musical guest perform for more then 30 secs..?
Wow, I may have found a replacement for my favorite guest–Dana Gould. This talk with Chris Isaak was great. He’s a delight. Ace you should see if he wanted to do a regular show on the network. (No offense Dana, I still think you should be back monthly at least!)
Truly enjoyed that. Thanks.
EM-EFFIN’ GENIUS!!!!
In classical ‘Good Cop/Bad Cop’ Fashion. The guy who is famous for bitchin’ about stuff promotes a book and the ball ‘gets dropped’…and now has something to bitch about…and bitch HE DOES! The next book is already writing itself.
It’s the market’s version of perpetual motion at work.
Alison is a pacifist except when she needs to use violence. Am I stupid?
Love Chris Isaack now. He’s a great guest. David Wild, too. Good podcast!
Be sure to listen to this episode to find out who the best drummers are. Also be sure to read Rolling Stone magazine to find out which bands are the best. Also be sure to befriend a fat little man to bring some famous guests on the show.
One of the better podcasts. Good guests and great content.
Good show, good combo of guests.
Adam looks just like Sonny in his book cover photo! But speaking of which, it is obviously a portrait studio photo from his childhood. I thought his parents wouldn’t've exerted that kind of effort to take him somewhere and actually getting a photo taken? Even a $9.99 special down at Kmart would have meant leaving the house and coughing up money! What gives???
For more information about Cochneal and it’s use as a dye, check out “The Perfect Red” by Amy Greenfield. Read a book!
