As the show wraps up, the gang discusses the links between car color and bird shit, and Adam jokes about owning a mythical Pegasus.

Something about thisa podcast reminds me of something I’ve been saying for years. I’m so for abortion that I believe that it should be legal to the age of 17 years old. Kids would be much better behaved if they knew that their parents could abort them at any moment. You might have to abort one of your kids just to let the other kids know that you mean it but no big deal, you can always make another kid. Gone are the threats of military school…which makes me ask…are there military schools anymore?

Let’s hear a word about Dr. Drew’s illegal shilling for GSK. I’m extremely disappointed with him at this point. I don’t think he should be on TV as a doctor.

PLEASE explain to me why so many people hate on Carolla here on the message board but care enough to listen to the podcast and post about?
Because, people are generally more nuanced in their reasoning for liking/disliking things, and not so black and white. Some like him out right, so dislike him out right, but many others have numerous qualities they like about him, and or the show, and that they dislike as well. Because you like a show, or entertainer enough to listen to them does not preclude you from disliking various aspects as well. I believe the people who complain, or make the occasional negative comments, are fans that are expressing a few of these dislikes.

I still listen, but it seems that he just gets drunker and drunker and starts shouting and slurring. I wonder how much spit ends up on the microphone and floor.

Part of liking the show is talking about parts you dislike, unless you have the gift of a very uncomplex mind and can only completely like or completely “hate on” things.

a word about the word “jap”: it’s common to hear japanese refer to foreigners-in-japan as “gaijin,” or “outsider.” however, it’s important to note that “gaijin,” is actually the less-than-polite version of the word “gaigokujin.” in other words, many japanese simply choose the impolite shortened version of the word for outsider. as someone who has lived in japan, i use the word “jap” from time to time, but of course understand it’s not particularly polite. but it’s not bad in the same way as “fat head,” “bucket head,” (usu reserved for koreans) or the ever popular “slant.” of course, racism isn’t considered a serious character defect in japan, either personal or institutional. i mean, 96% of landlords will just tell you straight up, “we don’t rent to your kind.” (of course the examples of things to complain about, if one is so inclined, is practically endless….)so what can they realisitically expect from the foreigners working in their country?

Hey Ace man, I just wanted to let you know that space is 62 miles from the earths surface and it is reached just beond the Ionosphere.
I noticed you sometimes make a reference to this on your show and tipically refer to the stratosphere. Beyond the strotosphere is the mesophere then the ionosphere then space.
Also our military has aircraft that regularly fly at 85,000 to 95,000 feet of altitude a mile is 5,280 feet so that puts them at 18 miles above the earth surface.
I hope this is usefull corrective information or you could just say… It’s just a wast of my time!

Combining two words to make a third made-up word just isn’t that funny. Especially when it’s done again and again.
Agreed. Alison Rosen thinks she is clever by constantly combining two words like, “this podcast is fantastic… it’s PODTASTIC”. I can only imagine how this must be a staple of her unlistenable, “Alison is your best friend” podcast. You notice when she does this, her voice gets really loud and excited sounding? You know she thinks she hit comedic gold, or “comold” as she would call it.
How can Adam “THE Family Guy” Carolla riff without any apparent sense of irony about how old people mispronounce things and add “THE” in front of any tv show – ‘have you watched The Seinfeld?’
or moreover, why have I never heard Bald Bryan step in to correct him on this? it’s starting to feel like some dark conspiracy is at play behind the scenes.
Almost better when she just says “yeah” or “yeah, I know,” obviously fulfilling some vow to respond, almost always. she seems to believe that she will disappear into obscurity without the perfunctory responses. And the “I used to pick the wrong guy. . . now i’m in a “relationship” . . . this isn’t the wrong guy” blather got old long ago.

I call bullshit on calling ‘Hollywood Hipsters’ unpatriotic. Who is it that’s buying the American battery-driven cars – the Tesla and the Fisker? The only people you hear about are people like Brad Pitt or Matt Damon. Also, who is it that’s building affordable green housing in New Orleans – the same Hollywood Hipster Brad Pitt.

I kicked a goose at the park downtown one time when it got too close to my daughter. She was 2 at the time and it was going straight for her face. Really, I didn’t kick it so much as I tossed it with my foot but it felt good watching it flail into the water. Goose are bullies around here, I hope the rest of them learned a lesson!
