After some catch up on what’s been going on with everyone, Lynette recounts a story of Natalia recently accusing her of being mean. Lynette discusses with Stefanie how she handled it and how they both think she should continue to address the issue going forward. Producer Gary then teases some upcoming guests & we welcome in this week’s guests.
Lynette recently saw a documentary called ‘The Hollywood Complex’ about families who move to Hollywood with ambitions of their children becoming stars. Shortly after seeing the doc, Lynette happened to run into a mother and daughter featured in the film named Presley Cash & her mother Sandy. This week we welcome them both to discuss their journey as well as a recent appearance on Anderson Cooper’s talk show.

I usually love listening to your show. The two of you are fantastic! Unfortunately, I was a little turned off with the Presley Cash show. She seemed fake and had a difficult time telling her story. As a listener, it was challenging to follow. I love when you have BBB on! I can’t wait to see Stephanie’s new show.
Wow…what a train wreck. Why would you ever sacrafice your family for that lifestyle?
jesus lynette, slow down & form your thoughts before fumbling thro all the details of your story that were not relevant regarding meeting the cash family…good gawd women, edit your stories.
This was so interesting! I loved Presley and her mom and it’s really heartbreaking the crap they had to endure from Anderson Cooper. I wish them all the best.
I love the show. But I do always skip to about 2 minutes in to skip the song.
Love you guys.
My favorite part of the show is the beginning when Lynette and Stephanie are just talking about their kids and their lives. The guests are fun but I love Stephanie and Lynette together! Oh and more Housewives talk please
Lynnette – finally you realize the intro song is too long and Gary can finally shorten it.
I love the show, listen every week and I put up with that poppy syrupy oreo cookie teenage girl tiresome song just because…it would be in my head all day and I’d be ready to take the cyanide every Friday in an otherwise great pod.
No I just let it play through and then start listening but thought podcasts have bumper music 15 seconds and that’s it so I was perplexed that Gary was asked to play the entire thing every pod. What was the reason?
Now the songs you play at the end of the podcast keep those. Always something different and they fit the show.
Why would teresa do that she will not be tight like she use to be.
eerrgggg… that’s a pretty stupid comment…
35,000 people come to LA every month wide eyed and full of hope and another 35,000 leave broken hearted
I totally agree with Lynette…the intro song is way too long! I usually fast-forward through it…sorry! And if i’m being completely honest, i hate the intro–it’s pretty annoying. I love you guys though and the show is awesome! Also would you ever consider making more than one podcast a week?
Lynette you are so fantastic being so honest about the different relationships you have with Sonny and Natalia. I know that could be hard to admit but I think all mothers experience this and your honesty will be a great relief to a lot of mums out there!
Love you guys.
xx
very interesting podcast today, ladies. As someone who was dying to be an actress/singer as a child (but grew up in NY) and did actually become a professional singer/actress at about 16, I found it fascinating but kind of sad. My parents insisted I stay in regular school but I was in a different situation growing up in NY. And both Natalia and Sonny are adorable in those photos! I love the table setting – my older daughter liked to do arrangements like that too and now at 13, she makes her own jewelry and is into hair, makeup and fashion but also a big soccer player!
Started with listening to Adam. Then saw this podcast and I FREAKING LOVE IT!! You both seem like such awesome mom’s! I’m expecting a girl in January 2013 and I’m flipping out. WHAT THE HORMONE??!!! You give great advice and do not seem like one of those snobby annoying mom’s at all. I like that. ( I really like DAG too)..haha. Thanks ladies!!!
please take the intro song completely away!!! super ANNOYING!
@ Goatfucker:
“take a Xanax!! Calm downnn!”
If you have this big of a problem with how Lynette tells a story… Go scratch.
the guests were a little irritating but i went out of my way to watch “hollywood complex” today so… mission accomplished?
Please please please do NOT shorten the intro song! I love it and sometimes even start the podcast over a couple of times just so I can hear it more. I love it! P.S. SWT-you are the shiz-nit and parental discretion it the bomb digging. Love you guys!
I really like the honesty at the top of the show. The Anderson Cooper story brought up a good point anout how everybody is a bully in some way. Unfortunately, I did find it hard to have much compassion for these two. Seems like a very hard way to raise a grounded child, but to each their own I guess.
Today’s guests were very difficult to like or listen to, Brutal! No more getting guests for the show at the supermarket please. Love the show, Peace.
I’m soooooo pissed you guys just put me through listening to those two awful twitts. I’m seriously angry that you didn’t take them to task. Simply awful. You two just lost a little respect and trust from me for having them. You’ve besmirched your entertainingly interesting and funny record. Bad show!
I’ll preface my comments by saying that I absolutely adore your show. (Haven’t missed an episode since the “Experiment” days!) With that said, this episode could have been so much more. I wouldn’t expect you to go all “Anderson” on them, but some harder hitting questions would have been nice (e.g., What’s up with your education? What if this Hollywood thing doesn’t work out, then what?). Thank God this segment was short – these two were beyond irritating! BTW, bring back Reality Roadkill (or some version of it). I don’t talk to my girlfriends as often as I should, so you two are the next best thing!
First I have to say that I love the pictures of the kids but looking at them makes me realize that I’ve been listening to this show since Lynette was talking about the problems of trying to get them to sleep through the night. Man I’m feeling old. Secondly I have to say that I’m glad I listened to this episode as it cemented my decision not to get my kids involved in acting. I’m sure they’re happy for their lives but it’s not a path for me. Fame has a price and when it involves kids, that price is way too high.
Love, love, love having both of the ladies back together again.
I like the intro song. Kind of catchy and my 13 year old daughter likes it too.
Lynette, you are an incredible mom. I appreciate your honesty about parenting. You are doing just fine. Load that shotgun, the ladies are gonna be all over Sonny!
Natalia has quite the decorator eye. I agree to get her involved in an activity that is all her own, that she can embrace.
Sorry to hear that your guest had a bad time on Anderson Cooper. I thought he had more class than that.
Love your podcast, ladies. Would love to come and see your next live broadcast. You did great. Also, I was a 48DD and now a happy 36C. Do it, Lynette. Do it!
Oh, and what do you ladies think about Jill Zarin’s one on one “interview” with Andy Cohen on “What What Happens Live?” Sour grapes. Ouch.
Best wishes Lynette and Stef!
Lynette in Northern CA.
One of your best episodes!
Best thing I’ve heard about moving to Hollywood.
I love the theme song! I love the talk about the Real Housewives. No need to cut it out…I’m sure we all have certain things that we find more interesting than others. You guys do a great job balancing the content. Didn’t love the mother/daughter team today and don’t find them as sympathetic as you guys do. I saw them on Anderson. I don’t think they were bullied but if what they say is true and they were mis-led that isn’t cool. How do we know it really happened like that? Has Anderson responded. Have a great day. Moving on to the next podcast from you.
Very interesting to hear about Natalia’s take on your relationship with her. Made me think about sibling dynamics and jealousy. The one I feel sorry for here is Sonny, though, just happily going about his business and being hated for it! Did you try to explain to her that the reason you never get mad at him is because he doesn’t do anything to get mad FOR? And how if she behaved as she is supposed to behave she’d also never get you mad? SHE has the power, it’s up to her. It’s not Sonny’s fault for being obedient, it’s not your fault for being the mom who needs to discipline. Don’t let her manipulate you! She does sound like she is quite spoiled and getting you to feel guilty about being a good parent.
I just watched “The Hollywood Complex”. Very engrossing! Meghan “Presly” Cash was such a sweet little girl. Too bad that after she couldn’t make it as herself, she had to go down the “shocking” path with the crazy dyed hair, outrageous costumes, fake stage name and…surprise! An upcoming reality show about god knows what!
“just happily going about his business and being hated for it!” I literally laughed out loud. That does sound like the Sonny both Adam and Lynette describe – the just happily going about his business part.
Hi Ladies,
Huge fan of your podcast. I enjoyed the beginning with Stephanie and Lynette catching up and sharing what’s going on.
I enjoy the variety of guests. I’m going to check out this documentary.
I didn’t like the mother/daughter. I was annoyed at how much they were talking about being from a one stop light town and how they talked about middle america. I’m from a small town in Missouri and I didn’t like them acting like everything is backwoods and Toluca Lake was a lake etc. COME ON!
I agree shorten the opening song! Also I went from a 40G down to a 40 C/D and it was the best decision I made. Do it! You won’t regret it and will wish you did it sooner.
Love you both, keep up the wonderful work on the podcast and being fabulous people.
“Presley” and Sandy were brutal to listen to. In the kid’s defense, she actually is 15. Sandy just acts that way. They were not bullied. That word is so overused and usually used incorrectly. Bullying is not someone calling you on something they believe is wrong. As JW said, they were misled at worst, and that’s just if they are being honest about what happened. Everyone tries to tell whatever version of a story will make them look the best and this girl is a performer. I’d say it’s the lock of the year that the story they told is not what really went down.
The first half of the show was wonderful but these guests were not worth stalking them out in the grocery for store.
