I just listened to the episode with Susan Pinsky and I think she should stop trying to sell Wellbutrin. Most people know her husband is getting paid to promote it, but she isn’t. If people were aware that the government is okay with promoting drugs for the uses they weren’t intended for, they wouldn’t go along with their nonsense. Companies are allowed to get paid “experts” like Dr Drew to promote their products for experimental uses, and often those drugs end up killing people. But in this country, it’s much more important to support the wealthy than it is to look after our well-being. It’s called “off-label” for anyone that wants to know.
Stacey you should take the quotations out of “experts” — Dr. Drew dedicates his life to helping people, he is an expert.
You – on the other hand – have a one letter last name, which is interesting. A good interesting.
Vernon,
Stacey was making a point about the non disclosure of endorsing prescription drugs while on that company’s payroll.
Dr. Drew does this without letting the audience know that he is being paid by the drug company. It is a total conflict of interest. It is the problem with the medical profession.
I never trust people who are compensated for their endorsements due to their profession. It’s product placement in the worse way.
Stephanie mentioned how she is paid to mention and blog products in her articles and podcast. I do not like this either.
It is commonly known among mental health professionals that Wellbutrin has a low risk of sexual side effects in comparison to other anti-depressant medications. I did not come away from the podcast with the impression that Susan was “selling’ Wellbutrin. I think your perception is a bit off base here.
“And Often those drugs end up killing people” Often??? as in more often than not…. I don’t think so.
In fact I would assume it went way in the other direction as in the VAST majority benefit from experimental drugs they wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise. But I may be mistaken Please cite some empirical evidence and I’ll gladly shut my mouth.
Steph… we hae the same birthday! Just had to post that
I was enjoying the show until you two ladies started joking about physical abuse by a spouse. I grew up in a household where I would see my mother get punched and slapped by my loser step father. (He’s passed on. . .) He also didn’t hesitate to backhand me and spank me with whatever was handy. So please, find something else to joke about. Physical abuse is no laughing matter!
Thanks.
There’s little humor to be found in political correctness. Go sling your sob story somewhere else.
Stefanie,
You don’t have to feel a need to apologize when one of your opinions just happens to agree with what Dr. Laura would say.
Wellbutrin made me crackhead crazy.
Hey gals, heard you talking about pms and there is a procedure called uterine ablasion (non hormonal) which greatly decreases or in many cases eliminates your period. I did it three years ago and it is the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I went in on a Thursday and I was back at the gym the next day. Check into it.
Still love the show…but please stop with the Housewives chit-chat…I have to fast forward through it.
Also, I am definitely a Stephanie fan…starting watching her new show and really enjoyed it. Congrats and keep it up.
I’m with you…the problem is that I think we the minority. I just fast forward through it too. Still love it though
Ugh me too – a little warning if there’s going to be a lot of reality chit-chat. It IS hard to fast forward through. Newsflash: there are quite a few people out there who have NO idea what you’re talking about and are NOT interested. Otherwise, I’d be happy with a notation in the description how long you’ll be on this so we know how much further we can set the podcast and go on (or put it at the end so we can finish early).
Another in agreement here. Can’t you girls chat about your reality shows off the air? During a phone call to each other? It’s fine that you enjoy that stuff, but a lot of us aren’t interested in listening to a reality tv podcast and this episode was one of the more boring ones.
thanks…I’m afraid we are.
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy the show. I know Suzanne is long gone but I constantly think about how glad I am that she was replaced with Stefanie. Stefanie is a REAL mom. She lives in a reasonably sized house and doesn’t have a “staff ” of people helping with childcare and cleaning. I think that your listeners find her very easy to relate to for that reason.
P.s. I also fast forward past the Real Housewives segments. Never seen the show and never will.
You guys are missing out. Real Housewives is Awesome.
Lynette, are you taking lessons from Adam? I realize its your show but let Stefanie finish a sentence! The “uh huh, uh huh, uh huh” is annoying as hell. Maybe you were just agreeing but it felt more like a “hurry up so we can move on”.
OMG Stephanie! When I was in high school, we had to do 25 hours of community service per year. You have to do 50 hours?! And you’re not even going to the school!
OMG! It’s November 1st and I just now…. just today…. about 20 minutes ago…. heard my shout out from Gary and Lynette (and Stefanie) on this episode!!! How sweet! I really wasn’t seeking “publicity”…. I swear…. I really just wanted to send a pendant to each of the ladies to say “thank you” because I enjoy the podcast so much and really appreciate them. It was so nice however, to hear them personally thanking me! The reason it took me so long to hear the episode is because I had knee surgery a couple of weeks ago…. so I’ve been out of commission
I really don’t have a web page or anything… but if people want to get in touch with me to order a pendant (100% of the proceeds go to my sponsored child and her family in El Salvador and/or to help The El Salvador Mission Trip at my church) they can message me on facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/spvgibb. I sent out Stefanie’s pendant last Friday. Hope she likes it!
