Ray Oldhafer

The show opens with Lynette discussing Adam’s habit of talking to her at night before she goes to bed before transitioning into the story of her recent trip. Lynette’s trip was amazing and she goes through the two different shows they saw and the fun people they met along the way including their cab driver from the Meadowlands.

Ray Oldhafer joins the show and the discussion turns to Ray’s love life as well as his relationship with Adam, both historically and currently. Ray discusses his most recent relationship and the way it ended while examining the things he felt happened that made it fall apart. After touching on a recent interaction between Adam and Sonny regarding his baseball hat the show closes with Lynette and Stefanie asking Ray about his relationship with Adam.

I LOVE me some Rayz Oldhafer! He is so fun. I think Stephanie should ease up on him a bit, it will help him open up a bit more. But altogether a great show with two fantastic hosts and producer :)

  9. david says:

Lynette–Adam doesn’t think your advice on disciplining kid’s is valid because he’s pretty sure the nanny he pays for handles that department for you.

    • graham wellington says:

      agreed david.

    • An Onny says:

Although I agree with Lynette’s method of disciplining the kids, kids will adapt to different parenting styles. If Adam wants to be the dad that barks out an order here and there and expects them to obey, so be it. There’s been far worse dads out there. It’d probably be good for Sonny – and Natalia as well – in the long run.

      • mal says:

i agree with An Onny. I think it’s good to explain to kids why you’re telling them to do something but something like “hey, put on a hat” or “stop what you’re doing and get in the car”, as a parent, should be obeyed without question or diddle-daddle. Adam didn’t need to explain why Sonny needed to put on a hat at that moment, kids need that sort of discipline.
Daddy or mommy told you to do something simple, you should obey without whining, you can explain to them later if you want.
Adam shouldn’t have gotten pissy at Lynette but Lynette expecting him to go on for 20 seconds explaining to Sonny WHY, at that moment, is ridiculous.

        • Ging says:

I loved Wicked! I saw it in NY a few years ago and LA a couple years ago, and I will see it again I’m sure. I have to admit, I loved NY bteetr. Not just because it was in NY but the voices of the characters were just bteetr. Love it, loved it, loved it! So glad to see someone else loved it as much as I did!

    • Aziz says:

When I graduated all I could think about was genttig as far away from school as I could. After trying my hand at managing a garage band, waiting tables, babysitting (nanny) (those kids will never be the same traveling and just being lazy, I went back to school in 1975 and became a Medical Laboratory Technician. I married into Brentwood Lanes in 1980, our daughter was born in 1988, we bought an 8 lane country bowling center in Hermann Mo. in 1992. I worked at the hospital lab from 1992-2000. I sold the business in 1997 freeing me up to pursue other avenues. I dabbled in a machine shop business for about 5 years in that same time frame and decided I didn’t want to work that hard anymore. I became a substitute teacher until 2002 when was offered a full time (with benefits) position in Special Ed. until 2008. My dad came to live with us in 2004 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I ended up back in Kirkwood in pursuit of Adult Day care for him in 2008. Right now I’m a caregiver and I’m loving it. And for the 1st time in 40 years I’m not working so hard.

  17. MC White says:

Lynette: Not sure if this is the show you said it, but when you talked about Adam saying one should take the advice of others with more knowledge, then not taking your advice about Sonny, etc, is right on. Adam uses that example, but it is intrinsically infallible. He uses the example of taking advice on carpentry, or something like that, but it is when “he is ready to take advice,” not when somebody is offering him advice. Then he expects to spew advice, when it is not asked for, and others to just listen passively, and drink it all in. He’s not using correct comparison examples. I understand his points, but he’s not demonstrating an example of himself doing it, as he describes others should.

  18. SpaceCowboy says:

    Where am I ?

  19. Ginger says:

I’m a fan of Adam but want to check you out since I heard ray was going to be on the show. I love Ray, and love the show…. (-:
