Parental Discretion

GlampingLynette and Stefanie open the show with some very exciting news from SWT on her recent endeavors and announce that Stefanie’s show Parental Discretion with ‘Stefanie Wilder Taylor’ has been picked up for 26 episodes. Then the discussion turns to reality TV and everyone agrees that Jersey Shore has jumped the shark, which quickly leads into The Real Housewives of Orange County and something called ‘Glamping’. It’s sadly exactly what you think it is.

Later in the show the ladies discuss their levels of attraction to their husbands, both now and while they were dating. Finally, the discussion turns to a news story of a 6-year-old girl in Atlanta who was handcuffed after having a particularly bad tantrum while at school. Finishing up, they touch on more parenting news with the story of a woman who shot a mother and abducted her three-day-old.

listened today and loved it as usual! Congrats to SWT – well deserved! I’ll have to watch your new show online as I no longer have cable – hopefully it will be avail via Hulu or Nick Jr online.

I listen to a lot of podcasts, but this is the ONLY one I do not turn off when you say, “Don’t F it up” — because I always love your exit song – and this week’s was no exception!

    Bravo, Gary!

Holy S- ladies! Did you read my mind?!? Totally needed the long-time married ladies’ perspectives on crushes; couldn’t have come at a better time for me.

Congrats SWT on your new show! You all are kicking ass!

  11. Lindsey says:

Loved this episode! Congrats to SWT! I am also looking forward to the Betsy Brown Braun episode coming up! Really like her.

I know a few people that teach special education for children with behavioral issues, and they are not allowed to touch the child at all if they are having a tantrum like the one described on today’s show. Instead, the teacher has to gather all of the other students, take them all out into the hallway, and basically wait until the kid is done throwing a fit before they can re-enter the classroom. Usually (though not always) when the teachers have meetings with the parents, the parents blame the teacher and the school for the issues.

When I was a kid, if I got into trouble at school, I knew that I’d be in twice the trouble at home. It was a very rare event when my parents did not back up the teacher or school. Seems like the opposite is true from a lot of parents today.

  12. An Onny says:

I can totally believe a 6 year old is capable of such strength that she’d need to be handcuffed to keep her under control. I used to work in a subsidized daycare in the inner city and whew, I was honestly scared of some of the FOUR year olds. One boy came up to my shoulders and was as fat as a sumo wrestler. He had violent outbursts and there was nothing we could do. Took forever to get him kicked out because he was underpriviledged. Another kid also went into rages and would kick, bite, scratch, etc. She was small, but had that sturdy strength. Her mom was 22 and had 5 other kids, her dad was in prison for murder. There were other kids like them as well. I only wished we had thought calling in the police was an option.

  13. Elissa Katherine says:

Stephanie: Take that blind date bubbles! Momma has her own show!

Can we meet John in studio? Can he put the guitar, twins or producer cap down to visit studio
    A?
We’ve met Adam on your turf, hell, even Ray!

Gary: Let’s make this happen ok?
