A very sad story. I did checkout the ‘all about lynzie blog’, and was absolutely disturbed at the number and type of photos posted. And no, I do not think we should hide illness. I just found it unsettling, in an exploitive way. This is a young woman, and is she even able to give consent (informed consent) about posting these pictures? God willing she gets better, moves into her adolescent years, and has to look back at these posted all over the Internet??? The mom should show more discretion with what she is pimping out.
Wow ur an ignorant woman! And I use the word woman loosely! “Pimping” really thats the word u use?! Get a life your pathetic and should spend your time working on yourself instead of dissecting and critiquing a mother whose child has cancer!!!! Why don’t u go count your blessing instead of judging a situation u can’t imagine. I’ve followed this family’s story and have NEVER found any of this to be expoltive it’s a mother trying to raise awareness because she is in dire need of help and sharing and finding good people has been emotionally therapeutic for her. Shame on u for not only thinking that but having the lack of class and cooth to write your pointless comment! Do the family a favor since u have such a vile impression of the mothers intentions don’t follow or read anything pertaining to them! Get a hobby and remember what happens when u spit up in the air, where it lands!
I love Bethenny. Jill Zarin certainly didn’t represent herself well on RHONY. Watch your back.
I’ve listened to every single Adam Carolla podcast and TPE podcast when it was called that. There have been some pretty wacky and weird guests of the years. But none can compete with Jill Zarin. When I first started listening to her talk, I thought it was an act of being a stereotypical retarded hollywood wife. It soon became clear you could not write this type of stupidity. Train wreck of the year award definitely goes to Jill.
I loved your interview on For Crying Out Loud. Your story was ielnrdibcy interesting, and inspiring! I will be buying your book as a Christmas present for myself. Good luck to you and your family!
I am Lynzie’s mother. I am not “pimping” her out. I have a lot of relatives, friends and people that like to see her progress everyday. This is what Lynzie wanted to as well. She does consent because if she didn’t I wouldn’t do it. I love all my children very much and if this is what she wants to do to keep to look back on that is up to her. I haven’t heard of such a thing that people would go against this. Everyone has told me the website is great to follow so they can see what someone goes through. But I will NEVER “pimp” any of my children out. Its Lynzie’s life as she goes through this. And the My Story page is for her to read and remember what she went through. She doesn’t remember a lot of things that she goes through and she loves to sit with me some nights and look back and read what she has gone through. And she LOVES the daily pictures of herself. She loves to see what changes she has gone through. Its her personal diary and for others to read about.
Another great podcast. I really think you guys are doing a great job, and I’m glad to see that you are using your voices and influence to get stories like Rebecca Barton and her daughter’s story out there. I sincerely wish the best for that little girl. I’m only disappointed that the positive energy that this should have generated generated this negative comment. Sometimes there is too much cynicism and negativity out there. Anyway, that’s so much for the show, I’ve been listening since the beginning.
So sorry your daughter has to go through this. You are a strong woman to be able to deal with all her needs and also raise 3 other kids. Definitely a special place in heaven for you. I’m praying all will turn out okay. And keep fighting for insurance! Hasn’t something been passed recently where no children can be refused now???
Despite Dr. Laura’s absurd advice for talking to kids, the context she lays out is unfortunately absolutely correct. In a misguided attempt to achieve equality with men….women ARE becoming pigs. Yep, just like us, and look we were all at now.
The current moral disintegration is only half women’s fault. Men have to to stop glamorizing strip clubs, fake tits, loose behavior, etc.
Adam is right, we need more shaming.
Btw, Katie Perry videos are not for kids.
I agree about Dr. Laura. she is intense but she does give good advice. Also, it is a radio show and she has been doing it for a very long time. her advice is over the top for effect.
Maybe she’s right on a few points but man. I can’t believe people aren’t all put off by her weird way of talking. She sounds like she’s 90 years old, trying to figure out how to talk in today’s lingo…just like L + S were poking fun of. I don’t think I could listen to her show for more than 5 minutes.
Rosi- thanks for taking the time to check out Lynzie’s blog. Do you really think her mother is exploiting her or trying to “pimp” her out? Really? Do you really think that’s what she’s doing? She’s a young mom who is doing her best under such tough circumstances. She set up the site so relatives and friends could follow Lynzie’s progress and for her to have a place to blog and tell her story. She tweeted it out, it got my attention and we talked about it on the show to hopefully bring her some support. Would you like her to hire a graphic website designer or a publicist?
Everyone handles stress differently. I hope you never have to go through what she’s going through. Her situation is tough as it is, do you really feel the need to take time out of your day and post such negativity?
Lynette
Thank you Lynette, very well said.
The Dr. Laura segment had me laughing so hard, I had to close my office door so people wouldn’t think I was crazy! Great episode ladies!
Great show. I would love a weekly “Dr. laura” segment. That woman is batshit crazy!
Agree with this – I think Dr. Laura could be a great segment for the show.
I haven’t listened to this pod in a while and I have to say Lynette you have much improved. One piece of feedback ladies – PLEASE stop talking about drops and how you want to have a drop and pausing your cadence for Gary to find a drop. The thing about drops is that they just happen and “drop” in naturally and the host just keeps moving on. That is what makes the Aceman and Bryan so powerful a team. Those two are like Ginger Roger and Fred Astaire with Aceman’s rants and Bryans drops.
Lynette, Stephanie – you guys on the other hand treat drops like a third host. You set it up for an obvious drop and even ask for it by name and then Gary fumbles to find it and after a few awkward moments of silence we hear a drop. Not too funny…
Dear Ras- When are you going to get your own podcast? You seem to know an awful lot about podcasting and you’re wasting your words of wisdom on our forum. No disrespect, but the beauty of this show is that the three of us (Jack, Chrissy and Janet) are having a ball and we really are not trying to be anything but ourselves. Fred Astaire and Ginger are professionals that have over 10 years under their belt.
Let us know when you have your Podcasting for Dummies show up on iTunes. Maybe i can book Mr. Astaire for your inaugural episode. You can borrow Ginger’s drop machine if you ask nicely.
Lynette!!!! Look at you with the snappy comebacks! Jack, Chrissy and Janet – HI – Lar-ious! I’m laughing my ass off here! Glad to see you on the message boards.
Agree! The fun of this show is that it IS just like a couple of women having a fun, easygoing conversation and saying whatever pops into their minds. I love it!
Lynette, I love you!!
Ras is some creepo that will continually post entitled negative feedback about the podcast. Like I told him before, it’s kind of “cute” that he thinks he’s so important.
I love the podcast!!
And she also releaved that she also had her period. Wasn’t that nice of her?
I love this show but the mocking of Dr. Laura was annoying. She may not sound as slick or cool as Stefanie thinks she should, but for the most part her observations & assessment of society in general are correct. Disagreeing with someone on fundamental issues such as faith & abortion does not make them crazy. You came across as politically correct lefties that reflexively bashed the conservative.
